			<title>Six Chasing Seven</title>
			<description>
				February 12, 2009 - 7:30 pm - Rock / Funk / Soul

Since their inception in 2004, Six Chasing Seven has been proving over and over again that soul-crunching, rock-infused pop funk has a new place to call home. In a musical world that increasingly views passion as a commodity to be bought and sold, the raw energy of Six Chasing Seven has carried them to the forefront and demanded they be in the spotlight. Rising from crowds of 50 to crowds of more than 5,000, their momentum continues to build. Fueling that momentum is the adrenaline laced live show that has become their trademark. Crisscrossing the east coast from NYC to Atlanta, this band is no stranger to the road and is showing no signs of slowing down.

A lineup change in 2006 brought the attention of Bruce Flohr (RCA, ATO). They have recorded with such great talents as Boyd Tinsley (Dave Matthews Band), Robert Randolph and John D’Earth. Tinsley was quoted as saying, “This band has so much talent it inspires me.” With the inspired groove of James Brown, the musical drive of the Allman Brothers, and the tenacious hope of Bob Marley, Six Chasing Seven is here to remind people what it feels like to be swept away in a musical tidal wave that never lets up.&amp;nbsp;

			<title>John Francis and Phil Minissale</title>
			<description>
				January 23, 2009 - 7:30 pm - JOHN FRANCIS

Americana / Folk / Rock

Born in New York City and raised in rural Pennsylvania, John Francis started to show his musical gifts at an early age. At 12, Francis started writing, recording, and performing. At 18, he enrolled as a Literature and World Religions major at Messiah College near Harrisburg, PA. There he immersed himself in the classics of poetry and prose, honing his craft as a songwriter. During these years, John played guitar for Gospel band on Sunday mornings. After graduating, Francis traveled to Ireland where the musical traditions of his family and ancestral homeland added more fuel to the fire. He made his home on the road for a few years, collecting songs from Appalachia to American-Indian reservations.

Shortly after moving to Philadelphia, Francis released the critically acclaimed “Strong Wine &amp;amp; Spirits”. With the single “Heavy, Heavy Love”, the record garnered extensive radio play in the North East. Drawing on the deep waters of Rock n roll, Folk, Country, and Gospel music, Francis conjures the spirits of his eloquent brand of songwriting.

Francis was honored by ASCAP as the 2006 recipient of the prestigious Sammy Cahn Lyricist Award, for his song “Love Came to Me Dressed in Red”. Previous winners include Nicole Atkins, John Mayer, Josh Ritter, and Lori McKenna.

Francis has played in subway stations and dive bars, churches and county fairs, Dublin street corners and Nashville honky-tonks, children’s classrooms and the United Nations, prisons and hospitals, as well as the most prestigious listening rooms on the East Coast and Ireland.

He has shared the stage with Suzanne Vega, Rickie Lee Jones, Jimmie Dale Gilmore, Andrew Bird, Ray Lamontagne, Amos Lee, M. Ward, Josh Ritter, Juana Molina, Peggy Seeger, Tom Paxton, James McMurtry, Missy Higgins, Ollabelle, Pedro the Lion, Denison Witmer, Dayna Kurtz, Kelley McRae, Amy Correia, Sonya Kitchell, Mark Geary, Phil Roy, Peter Mulvey, Kris Delmhorst, Freedy Johnston, Jeffrey Gaines, the Hooters, and festivals with Steve Earle, Jeff Tweedy, Aimee Mann, Rufus Wainwright, Mavis Staples, and Arlo Guthrie.

Phil Minissale

Blues / Americana

Influenced by the likes of Bob Dylan, Toby Walker, John Hammond, and Chris Smither, Phil is on a crusade to introduce the Blues to younger audiences. “Cats my age know nothing about roots music, and that’s a shame.”

Although Phil is Long Island born, he grew up in the Brandywine Valley of Eastern Pennsylvania. In September 2006, Phil returned to the area and now lives in Stony Brook, New York. “It’s nice to be back around my extended family. It’s like coming home to my own roots.”

In just a few short months, Phil has become a crowd favorite at folk societies, festivals and coffee houses throughout the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast states. His fingerstyle guitar playing and instincts for finding new melodies are far beyond his years.
